The illustration above shows the current Pumpkin Hollow Site and the Proposed Pumpkin Hollow Sites.
The Proposed North Open Pit is dependent on our bill passing in Congress.
The difference between where we are now and where we can be, is similar to a golf ball and a basketball….
What is better? $35 million or $1.3 billion?
430 Permanent Jobs or 1,000 + Permanent Jobs?
Pumpkin Hollow Site Updates and Comparisons:
- Nevada Copper is currently constructing a 2,000-foot deep shaft.
- 75 Construction Workers
- 25 Temporary Jobs
*That is good, but tiny compared to getting the Stage 2 Open Pit Mine started.
Stage 1 Underground Mine
- Nevada Copper has started construction of its 6,500 ton-per-day underground mine that will employ 300-500 construction workers and will have a permanent workforce of approximately 430 people when it begins operation in 2015-16.
- 500 Construction Workers 430 Permanent Jobs.
*That is good, but not nearly as good as the Stage 2 Open Pit Mine
Stage 2 Open Pit Mine
- If Congress passes the Lyon County Economic bill, Nevada Copper could build a 70,000 ton-per-day, open pit mine and construction and operation could start in 2016, and operation in 2018, two (2) years sooner than if the bill does not pass. It would employ 500-700 ADDITIONAL construction workers and would have a permanent workforce of approximately 950 people.
*The COMBINED underground and open pit mine would employ 1,000-1,200 construction workers. And, have a permanent workforce of approximately 1,380 people.
